I received an email from the Australian Youth Climate Coalition today (if you voted on YOUth Decide, you would have gotten it too!)
Essentially, using an video advertisement, the AYCC is trying to spread the word about climate change, an issue being advocated by them in the upcoming UN Climate Talks in Copenhagen. How we can help? By spreading the word about the 30 second ad.
“Our ad aims to raise the expectations of the Australian public about the negotiations. We’ve just organised for it to air on Channel 10 for the next two weeks and trying to raise money to put it on Sky TV – so millions of Australians will hear our message!
Now we need to make sure it goes viral online so all our friends see the ad as well.“
You can view and share the video on Facebook here (while you’re at it, become a fan too!). You can also subscribe to their Twitter and Youtube. Got ideas about what’s next for the AYCC? Email them at ideas@youthclimatecoalition.org

Dear Elisha,
We know you’ve already done a lot this year in the lead up to the UN Climate Talks in Copenhagen. Now our movement must be even more strategic, and we’ve made a 30 second ad that we urgently need your help for it to make a difference.
We’re working on the ground here in Copenhagen at the UN Climate Conference to influence the outcomes of the most significant global agreement of our time.
What happens in Australia – what you do – over the next 2 weeks will influence what happens here. So what can we do together? We’ve made an awesome 30 second TV ad that will cut through all the noise – but we need your help to spread the word about it:

We’ve all put in some money to get in on national TV, now we’re going to make sure people can’t miss it by having it all over Facebook too. Can you spend a couple of minutes to share our new ad with your friends?

Today is the first day of the negotiations, and our team of 30 Australian youth and 11 young Pacific Islanders are already making our presence felt. But your actions at home are just as important. If each of us shares this with our friends, we can ensure our message cuts through when it counts most. Please help:
Watch and share the ad: help make Copenhagen a success,
Thank you so much,
Amanda McKenzie, Anna Rose — and the whole AYCC team in Copenhagen
PS – Want to help more? Help put this ad on Sky News where our politicians will see it, by donating online. Our team is producing live updates and blogs, be part of the COP Watch by joining our Copenhagen list here.
